It was the summer of 2006 at a campsite somewhere in PA, that my brother
Lynn and I decided to form another Blue Grass band. At this point we had a
guitar and dobro. We then asked a well known banjo player from the Philly area
to help us play a gig. We nailed him down as a band member. I also called a
good friend to play bass. Our new bass player was with me in a previous band
in 2002. We signed him to a contract. I then met a mandolin player from Reading
at a pickin' session at Meadow Wood Music Store. I asked him if he would be
interested in joining us. He said sure give me a call; I called Thursday, he
played Friday and we signed him. |

Larry
Peters-
Born May 6th 1955, I started listening to Bluegrass music May 7th 1955. My
dad was, at that time, playing Bluegrass music. growing up I always heard the
music, but was not interested until 1976. I started to learn the guitar and
tried singing for fun. Later I learned to play the upright bass. In 1976, I
also married my wife Janice. Somewhere around 1979 I started my first band,
Salt Creek. The band included my brother Lynn on dobro; Al Frye on banjo; Tom
Arner on bass; and George Dereamer on mandolin and fiddle. By the early 80's
my dad joined on the banjo, and Tom's brother Bill Arner joined on the mandolin.
My family grew during this time with the addition of Erin, Megan, and Sean.
By 2000 I had a short stint with Mail Pouch Express. Over the years my family
has continued to grow both at home and with the band. I have four grandchildren,
two more on the way; and have started another band in 2006, Santara Wind. |
